Overview

An EV (Electric Vehicle) shaft is a key component that transmits torque from the electric motor to the wheels. It typically includes a motor shaft, which connects to the rotor and handles high-speed rotation. The coupling section links the motor to the reduction gear, while the output shaft delivers power to the wheels, often through a differential. Bearing seats support the shaft and ensure smooth, low-friction rotation. 

Many EV shafts are capable of rotating at speeds between 10,000 and 20,000 RPM, with some high-performance designs sustaining up to 30,000 RPM. Achieving these speeds requires exceptional engineering and strict adherence to quality standards. The shaft must be precisely balanced and manufactured to withstand intense thermal and mechanical stress. Materials, tolerances, and surface treatments all play a critical role in ensuring durability and performance. Without these considerations, the shaft could fail under the demands of high-speed, high-torque electric motor operation.
